Lerato Manqela, also known as LKHAY is a South African born artist and songwriter. Music has always been central to her grooming, being raised in a very music family. LKHAY remembers being taken to music festivals and rubbing shoulders with both local and international music heavy weight such as Salif Keita and Joe Mafela to name a few. She recalls being a tiny 13 year old leading the adult choir at her local church, something that she says has held her in good stead to this day. LKHAY has a well balanced and mature understanding of music that has earned her respect amongst her peers and recognition for her unparalleled ability to minister from the heart. A deep, strong and breathtakingly controlled voice that carries power and honesty. LKHAY is an artist whose work is independent of the normal scope. Having written and composed songs for different types of genres. LKHAY music consistently communicates her central message that is of love. The message of love goes beyond the microphone for her. LKHAY is the founder of the Eternity Project, a philanthropic initiative which provides relief services to communities, particularly focusing on children in orphanages. LKHAY is currently working on her first major project. Just as her mentor would challenge her by saying, “You cannot want the best when you are not doing the best,” a complete fusion of art, talent and music is anticipated on LKHAY’s upcoming project.
ABOUT
THEMBA THE SINGLE Themba is a single from LKHAY’s upcoming album I actually wrote this song in 2013. I was on my way to work. Passing through Booysens to be exact and it all started with the chorus. UliThemba lam', Themba lam', iThemba lam' nguwe. That was all that was ringing in my head. God can give you a song to prepare you for when you will need to sing it. The verse came much later and I said "Holy Spirit, what do we want to communicate in this song and He took me to Isaiah 40 v 31 (my favourite scripture). Themba is such a personal song. When someone hears and sings it, I want them to sing it as they go through their personal journey. Themba is a verb and a noun. I gave God that name.
I will be sharing my tour dates, planned performances and other appearances on this page. Looking forward to embarking on journey together with you.

LKHAY “I believe that when you educate a girl child, you actually educate a community and you educate a family. As girls tend to become the head of the household, these young ladies pay their education forward; and an education is something that nobody can take away from you. It has a generational advantage and value.”

LKHAY “I believe in the right to education as a weapon against injustice and inequality, and the right to health as a necessity for happiness and productivity. All kids deserve equal access to education. Together we can make real change in education for children all over the world.”

LKHAY Children have always meant so much to me. Fear, hatred, all these are not things that children are born with, they learn them from the people they look up to. I want to build a society that does not know what fear or hatred is. A society that is success orientated, a world that is conscious of open doors and opportunities. It all starts with catching them young. I believe in their future and I want to always ensure that I contribute to making them a prosperous and unstoppable generation.

The Eternity project Tour When the last-minute request is for a focus group, it’s usually a sign that the request originated in Marketing. When Web sites are being designed, the folks in Marketing often feel like they don’t have much clout. Even though they’re the ones who spend the most time trying to figure out who the site’s audience is and what they want, the designers and developers are the ones with most of the hands-on control over how the site actually gets put together.
